Lianne Miller - Lead Coach
Basketball has been a central part of my life since the age of nine, when I first discovered a love for the game that would go on to shape my journey in ways I could never have imagined. From those early days, what started as a simple interest quickly developed into a deep passion, driven by a desire to improve, compete, and be part of something bigger than myself.
A significant influence on my journey has been my family, particularly my parents, whose dedication to the sport helped create opportunities not just for me, but for many others. They founded the first Whiteley Basketball Club and ran it from 2000 to 2010, building a strong community around the game. Their commitment went far beyond simply supporting from the sidelines they invested time, energy, and belief into developing the sport locally. As my career progressed, their support only grew stronger, following me around the world as I had the honour of representing England and Great Britain. Having that kind of backing played a huge role in my development, both as an athlete and as a person.
My hard work and dedication eventually led to earning a four-year basketball scholarship in the United States. This was a major milestone in my career, giving me the opportunity to compete at a high level while continuing my education. Living and playing abroad challenged me in new ways, pushing me to develop resilience, independence, and a strong work ethic. It was an experience that not only improved my performance on the court but also shaped my mindset off it, preparing me for life beyond sport.
Unfortunately, my playing career came to an unexpected end 12 years ago after suffering three shoulder dislocations. Being forced to step away from the game I loved was not easy, and it required a significant mental adjustment. However, this turning point also gave me the chance to reflect on everything basketball had given me and how I could continue to be involved in a different way.
Today, my passion for basketball remains as strong as ever, but it has evolved into a desire to give back to the sport that has given me so much. I am committed to helping develop young athletes, whether their goal is to compete at an elite level or simply to enjoy the game as a positive outlet. I believe basketball offers far more than just physical benefits it teaches valuable life skills such as discipline, teamwork, resilience, and confidence.
My aim is to create an environment where young people can grow, not just as players but as individuals. Through basketball, they can build friendships, develop character, and gain tools that will benefit them throughout their lives. Having experienced both the highs and challenges of the sport, I am passionate about guiding the next generation, helping them achieve their potential while ensuring they enjoy the journey along the way.
Leeann Tudor - Team Manager
I am the National League Coordinator for the club, as well as Team Manager for both the U16s & U18s National League teams.
Although I had not played basketball since school, I was delighted when my son developed an interest in the sport and joined the club. Like many parents, I initially came along to support from the side-lines, but I have always believed in getting involved and contributing where I can. Before long, I found myself supporting the club with administrative and organisational tasks, helping behind the scenes to ensure players, coaches and volunteers have the support they need.
I enjoy working with players, parents, coaches and volunteers to create positive experiences and opportunities for young athletes to develop both on and off the court. Being part of the Warriors community has been incredibly rewarding, and I am proud to play a role in helping the club and its teams succeed.
