How it Works
There are 4 parts to the membership and fee structure when joining the Warriors family
Warriors Basketball Development Clubs Membership and Payment Terms
Annual Club Payment
A annual payment of £30 (collected in Apr/May) or when you join if a space becomes available, that covers administration, insurances, equipment replacement, system licenses and preseason preparation.

These fees cover venue hire and coaching costs. They are set up in our stripe system as monthly direct debits, separate links for each club and age group can be found under Clubs.
Grassroots Club Pricing:

Game Fees
This covers referee, table officials costs and additional court hire if required.
Players only pay when selected to play:
Local Grassroots Basketball Dev League Game Cost - £7.50 per game home and away. Only applies if you are picked for the game
National League - Games fees are included in the monthly budget set at the beginning of the season, so there are no more additional charges, unless the team makes playoffs and has to extend their season.
Team Kit - When you join a team in the Warriors Development Clubs, eg Fareham Falcons or Whiteley Warriors, you are required to purchase a game vest with a unique number from the rest of the team. The vest must be worn on game days, and they cost around £25.00 and can be personalised, with name of your choice.
These terms apply to all Warriors Basketball Development clubs, including:
- Whiteley Warriors
- Boorley Green Bucks
- Gosport Gunners
- Fareham Falcons
- New Forest Novas
These DO NOT Apply to National League, which have separate terms set out on the NL pages.
Our Membership Model
Warriors Basketball operates a 12-month subscription model rather than a pay-as-you-go system.
Your monthly subscription secures your child's place within the programme and allows the club to provide a consistent, high-quality basketball experience throughout the year.
Unlike a pay-as-you-go model, a subscription enables the club to plan ahead, retain quality coaches, secure venues for the entire season and continue investing in player development.
Many of the club's costs are committed months in advance and continue whether individual players attend every session or not.
Total Annual Costs
When joining a Warriors Basketball Development Programme, there are three separate costs to consider:
1. Warriors Basketball Annual Membership – £30 per year
This supports the wider running of the club and contributes towards administration, equipment, club development, welfare provision and member benefits.
2. Monthly Training Subscription
Your monthly subscription depends on the programme your child attends and the duration of the weekly training session (60 minutes, 90 minutes or two hours).
This subscription secures your child's place within the programme and covers the ongoing delivery of weekly coaching throughout the year.
3. Basketball England Membership – £23 per year
All players participating in Basketball England-affiliated activity must hold a valid Basketball England membership.
This provides:
- Basketball England registration.
- Personal accident and liability insurance where applicable.
- Eligibility to train and compete in affiliated competitions.
- Access to Basketball England member benefits and services.
What Your Subscription Covers
Your monthly subscription contributes towards the overall running of the Warriors Basketball Development Programme and helps fund:
- Weekly coaching sessions.
- Venue hire throughout the year.
- Coach payments and contracted coaching hours.
- Basketballs, bibs and training equipment.
- First aid equipment and welfare provision.
- Insurance and administration.
- Coach education and development.
- Basketball England club affiliation and operational costs.
- Club development and long-term sustainability.
- End-of-season awards, participation medals and team trophies.
- Club events and player recognition throughout the season.
The subscription covers the programme as a whole rather than paying for individual sessions.
Venue & Coach Commitments
The club commits to sports hall bookings for the entire season and, in many cases, pays for facilities well in advance.
Likewise, coaches are contracted to deliver sessions across the year, allowing players to benefit from continuity and consistency.
These costs continue regardless of individual attendance, which is why subscriptions remain payable throughout the year.
School Holidays & Summer
Our Development Programme operates throughout the year.
Summer holidays form part of the annual subscription model. Some families attend throughout the summer, while others choose to take holidays. Attendance during these periods is a personal choice and does not affect the subscription.
Throughout the year, additional opportunities such as holiday camps, skills clinics and player development sessions may also be offered.
Half-Term Breaks
As a general guide, coaches and volunteers are given a short break during each school half-term.
Normally:
- Midweek sessions will not run during the first week of half-term and resume during the second week.
- Weekend sessions will usually miss one weekend before returning as normal.
Where possible, additional camps or development activities will be available during these holiday periods and are charged separately.
Attendance
If a player misses training because of illness, holidays, school commitments or any other personal reason, subscriptions remain payable.
Unfortunately, missed sessions cannot be refunded, transferred or credited.
Force Majeure
Player welfare will always be our highest priority.
Occasionally, sessions may need to be cancelled because of circumstances outside the club's reasonable control, including:
- Severe weather.
- Venue closures.
- Utility failures.
- Public health restrictions.
- Safeguarding or welfare concerns.
- Coach illness where suitable cover cannot be arranged.
- Any other unforeseen event making it unsafe or impossible to deliver the session.
As the programme operates on a subscription basis and the club continues to incur venue, staffing and operational costs, cancelled sessions due to Force Majeure will not normally be refunded or credited.
Where practical, alternative sessions may be offered, although these cannot be guaranteed.
Development League Match Fees
Monthly subscriptions cover training only.
When players are selected to represent their development team in league fixtures or friendly games, a match fee of £7.50 per player, per game will apply, whether the fixture is home or away.
This contribution helps cover the significant costs involved in staging fixtures, including:
- Two qualified referees (typically around £30 each).
- Table officials (typically £15–£20 each).
- Match administration.
- Equipment and game-day operations.
- Venue hire where applicable.
The average cost of running a home fixture is typically £100 or more, before any additional court hire is taken into account.
Where fixtures can be played during a team's normal training slot, the club absorbs much of the remaining cost.
However, if an additional venue has to be hired outside the team's normal training time—for example, hiring Deer Park Secondary School on a Saturday to stage a fixture—Warriors Basketball reserves the right to charge an additional match fee where necessary to cover the extra venue hire and associated costs.
Any additional charge will always be kept to the minimum required and communicated to parents in advance.
Players are only charged when they are selected to play. If a player is unavailable or not selected, no match fee is payable.
Cancelling Your Membership
Should you wish to leave the programme, we require 30 days' written notice.
Notice must be sent by email to:
accounts@warriorsbasketball.co.uk
Your subscription will continue during the notice period, after which payments will cease and your place may be offered to another player.
Payment Dates
Subscriptions renew automatically on the same date each month as your initial payment.
Please ensure sufficient funds are available to avoid failed payments.
If payments fail, the club will contact you to arrange payment before your child's place is affected.
Our Commitment
The subscription model provides Warriors Basketball with the financial stability to:
- Secure facilities for the entire season.
- Employ and retain quality coaches.
- Invest in player development.
- Purchase equipment and resources.
- Deliver end-of-season awards, trophies and recognition events.
