If you enjoy basketball and are looking to progress your skills and play in competitive games, the Warriors offer a welcoming home. Players benefit from top-tier coaching, internal competitions and a long-term development pathway.

National League Registration Process
Season 2026/27
Welcome to the Warriors Basketball National League Programme.
To register your player for the 2026/27 season, please complete each of the steps below in order. The process has been designed to make registration as straightforward as possible while ensuring that all Basketball England and club requirements are completed before the season begins.
Step 1 – Read the Parent/Guardian & Player Handbook

This document outlines the standards, behaviours and responsibilities expected of every player representing Warriors Basketball throughout the season
Step 3 – Complete Your Basketball England Registration (PlayHQ)
Purchase or renew your Basketball England National League licence using the PlayHQ link for your team
Your National League License is split in to two separate payments, a Participant Membership of £22.53 and a Performance membership of £19.80, which should total £42.33
If this is your first National League season, Basketball England requires proof of identity before your licence can be activated.
Accepted identification includes:
Passport
Birth Certificate
Please email your identification to membership@basketballengland.co.uk
If your identity has already been verified in a previous National League season, simply renew your licence through PlayHQ.
Step 4 – Complete Your Club Membership
Before submitting your player registration, please complete the relevant club payments.
This includes:
Annual Club Membership (where applicable) Please check if you have paid this already when sent back in April 2027
Monthly Training Subscription for your team (you should have started this already and been paying for training)
Step 5 – Complete the Player Registration Form
Once you have completed the previous four steps, please complete the Warriors Basketball Player Registration Form.
This is our central club database and enables us to:
Record player and parent/guardian details.
Maintain emergency contact information.
Record medical information and care plans.
Meet safeguarding and data protection requirements.
Confirm acceptance of the club's policies, procedures and handbooks.
Once submitted, your registration will be reviewed by the club. When all required steps have been completed, your player will be eligible to train and compete for Warriors Basketball during the 2026/27 season.
Rosie Goldring-Chase - Lead Coach
My childhood growing up has always been centered around basketball. As a family we all had a passion for the sport which is where my inspirations initially came from. Having held a basketball in my hand since the age of 9, I haven’t let go.
My passion for the game grew as I got older stronger and stronger, which lead me to be apart of the national league. Through perseverance and determination, my path led me to represent not only Hampshire areas, but also for England. This was a monumental moment in my life, as this then developed to expand my horizons internationally and was offered a scholarship in America. Playing for lake regional state in North Dakota and playing in the finals in Kansas was a great achievement to experience and certainly a highlight filled with inspirational memories.
Due to my injury on my ACL, this sadly halted my dreams in basketball. But my heart still had love for the game, with more to give so I was seeking for a way to contribute to the sport in what it had given me. This is where my journey lead me to become apart of whiteley warriors since the club formed in 2021 and I have loved every minute of it. It’s so great to be back out on the court, even if it’s in a new aspect of basketball. Little did I know that in my end was also my beginning. I am also able to be apart of my children’s journey sharing the same passions as from my childhood. One team, one goal, one love.
Elaine Lui - Assistant Coach
I was born in Hong Kong. I started playing basketball in year 6, but it was just a hobby and not something I truly loved. It wasn't until secondary school that I met a wonderful teacher and coach. Through extra training outside of school, I met different coaches and even became a member of the secondary school team, facing opponents from China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. This broadened my horizons and made me love basketball even more.
After becoming a physical education teacher, I had the opportunity to coach a girls' basketball team. After several years of hard work, I was fortunate enough to see them win a championship and advance to higher groups. This experience is unforgettable.
When I came to England, I thought I would never have the chance to play or coach basketball again. But there are many opportunities here. I was lucky enough to join a women's basketball team and also had the chance to coach again. I am very grateful for everything. It's really rare to find something you love in a new life. I hope to pass on my knowledge and passion for basketball to the players, so they can grow in all aspects and cultivate an optimistic, positive attitude. I think that's the greatest benefit of sports.
Gemma Selmes - Team Manager
Gemma brings a wealth of experience to Warriors. She is a mum of three and a senior leader in education with over 24 years' experience, including the last 12 years in school leadership. Safeguarding, child welfare and wellbeing are central to her professional role, and she is passionate about creating environments where young people feel safe, valued, listened to and able to thrive.
Many of you will already know Gemma through the club. Her daughter has been part of the Warriors family since 2022, playing in our Under-14 Girls National League team, and Gemma has been an outstanding Team Manager, building strong relationships with our players, families, coaches and volunteers. Her commitment to the club, together with her professional experience, makes her an excellent person to lead this important area.
As Warriors continues to grow, we remain committed to ensuring that safeguarding is more than just policies and procedures. We want to continue building a culture where every player, coach, volunteer and family feels respected, included and supported, and where the Warrior Way is reflected in everything we do.
